Andrew Phillip Pannell, Jr., 73, of Cochranville, died Sunday Feb.17. He was the husband of Bootsie Bohnsdahl Pannell.
Born in West Grove, he was a son of the late Andrew P. and the late Lorraine E (Cazier) Pannell, Sr. He served in the Army Reserves.
Growing up, Andrew worked with his father in the Mushroom Business. In 1970 he founded New Garden Farms, Inc. He also owned other businesses including New Garden Supply, Inc, and WeeGro Mushrooms both in Kennett Square and Mushroom Bowl Speed-way radio control race track. He also owned Flat Iron Systems, Ltd. in Cochranville.
Survivors include in addition to his wife; four daughters: Andrea McGovern and her husband William of Kennett Square, Paula Angelucci and her husband Tony of West Grove, Allison Fertig and her husband Kevin of Kennett Square, Nina H Pannell of Ocean City, Md., and son: Andrew P. Pannell III of Cochranville and 9 grandchildren.
Friends may call Saturday, Feb. 23 from 10-11 a.m. at the Episcopal Church of The Advent, 401 North Union Street, Kennett Square, Pa. 19348. A memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. Interment is private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be sent to Avondale Fire Company, 23 Firehouse Way Avondale, Pa. 19311.
